Final Assembly

I have covered the final assembly in the video.

Here are a few things to be aware of.

Take your time with the padding.

Do not press the pad down with your fingers to make it seal better. The spring, when tensioned will hold the pad down for you to test with the cigarette paper.

If you depress the pad with your fingers then the pad will seem like it is seating very well. But the pad will recover and it may not be fully seated with the pressure only of the spring.

When you apply the PTFE tape, remember to keep it taught. Smooth it with your thumb.

Check the fit of the head and the footjoint. Do not worry if it comes loose overnight. The resin expands and contracts. Just add a bit more.

When you are putting in the pivot screws be careful not to cross thead the screws in the pillars. This is very easy to do!

When you are fitting the screws they should screw into the support pillars easily.

If they meet any resistance, then take the screw out and try again. If you have cross threaded the hole then you can carefully use the M2.5 tap to re-thread the hole.
